Goals

  • Providing service to the maximum possible number of children with surgical heart diseases.
  • Raising the level of service provided to patients.
  • Training a new cadre of surgeons to reach an advanced level of surgical performance that will enable them to assume responsibility later
  • Spreading medical awareness among the families of children with heart disease about the importance of surgical treatment and rapid intervention before the patient develops lung and heart complications.
  • Forming groups of families of patients with the same congenital defect as a form of communication, exchanging experiences with each other, and educating them about post-operative care for the patient, such as Down syndrome.
  • Holding training workshops for young surgeons who practice pediatric cardiac surgery
  • Communicating with medical centers for heart surgeries in children in Arab and African countries and running a medical convoy to perform surgeries and train doctors in those countries. Initial opinions are being conducted with some universities in Nigeria.
  • Performing all operations for congenital heart defects and heart surgery in children. A number of 5 to 7 cases are performed weekly, including 4 to 5 open heart operations, including all operations for congenital heart defects.
  • It was complex, moderate, or simple with a success rate ranging between 95% and 97%. Open-heart surgeries are also performed for weights starting from 3 kg. The unit also performs surgeries for congenital lung defects such as. Congenital lobar emphysema, CCAM and mediastinalcysts.
  • Cooperation with international medical centers to exchange experiences, such as the German Heart Institute at the German Technical University in Munich, the National Guard Heart Hospital, and King Faisal Specialist Hospital.
  • The center has occupied a prominent place among pediatric heart surgery centers in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the center is now considered a front for referring such cases at the republic level.
  • Cases are being received from the Delta governorates (Dakahlia, Gharbia, Kafr El Sheikh, Damietta), and patients have been received from Beheira Governorate, Suez, Marsa Matrouh, Sinai, and Cairo.

  • Complete atrioventricular perforation closure.
